Roza Water Users-

• We are expecting at least a partial October water allocation from USBR, and are currently targeting Monday October 12 to end diversions. The lower half of the district will have water for a day or two after that due to the travel time for the water.

• The October forecast will be issued on Friday September 25^th. We will not know for sure how much water we have to work with until then.

• The recent storms have been a very positive development for October water supply and carryover storage going into the 2027 water year.

• USBR’s water supply forecast increased from 58% to 60% on September 8^th. The supply forecast increased again on September 14^th to 62%, which is much better than the March forecast of 44%.

• Roza will be reimbursed by the state Department of Ecology for 50% of the costs of leasing senior water rights from the Selah-Moxee Irrigation District in 2026. All leased water was used in 2026. Roza does not receive any additional reimbursement if any of the leased water goes unused.

• A one page table is attached which lists out the monthly water forecasts in recent drought years for comparison. You can see how each drought is a bit different in how we things unfold over the winter/spring and during the season.

2026 is a good example of a cooler/wetter June helping to reduce irrigation demand. Not having an extended stretch of 100+ degree heat this summer also helped.
